Michael Jackson’s Thriller is Now Officially Best-Selling Album of All Time

New York: Michael Jackson’s Thriller is officially the best-selling album of all time. RIAA has officially given a Diamond Award to the album, after surpassing the 30x million mark sales in the US.

On Thursday, The Recording Industry Association of America certified that Jackson’s Thriller  had reached sales of selling 33 million copies in the United States. RIAA has officially given a Diamond Award to this album.

‘Thriller’ Is The Best-Selling Album Of All Times!

It is an album that people belonging to all generations listen even today. It’s been 35 years since the release of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and still has the charm.

Cary Sherman, Chairman and CEO, Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) said, “Thirty five years later, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” remains as timeless and iconic as ever,”

He added “‘Thriller’ has now become the first and only album to achieve an RIAA 33X Diamond Award, a moment forever etched in Gold & Platinum Program history.”

In Guinness World Record, ‘Thriller’ is the World’s Top-Selling Album of all time and Michael Jackson is the ‘Most successful singer of all time’. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.

It’s Jackson’s second solo album released in 1982 which would go on to win a record eight Grammys, was produced by Quincy Jones. The two would later work together on Jackson’s follow-up album, “Bad.” The album produced all time hit and most popular tracks were “Beat It and Billie Jean

Separately, the recording association certified that Jackson’s high-stakes follow-up to Thriller, 1987’s Bad, had reached sales of 10 million copies in the United States.

 After seven years of his passing away, Jackson still remains an influential and inspiring musician whose work has found place in the heart of all generations.
